In the past 4 years Val has been working with a variety of clients with varying needs and has created a particular niche with black professionals moving to and transitioning into Cape Town. She has coached clients to be self-aware leaders who understand who they are, their behaviour, other people’s behaviours, their influence and how to move forward to reach their professional goals.
Her specialities are: leadership development, life coaching, business coaching, identity construction, workplace perception identification and management.
Val’s approach is rooted in theories and models such as Positive Psychology, Systems Thinking, Identity Construction, Existentialism, Enneagram, KOLB’s Adult Learning Styles and Neuroscience. When working with Val prepare to understand yourself through looking at how in general our brains work, the meaning of your life and thus your work, making sense of uncertainty at work, examining your role and the value you bring into your organisation and designing ways in which you can experience flourish in what you do.
As a coach Val has a strong client centered approach. The journey with each client is unique, individualised and is aimed at ensuring sustainable transformation through a strengths based outlook.
